Deeply Rooted and Intertwined
On a rural backroad in Hendersonville, Tennessee sits the authentically country Cash Cabin. This cabin gets its name honest being the rest and relaxation spot from the performing and tour life for none other than Johnny Cash. These four walls hosted the setting of where Johnny Cash would write some of his biggest hits.
We feel so privileged to have been able to be a part of this Cabin in 1979 with our timeless and uniquely detailed hand-hewn logs that add a rustic edge. Johnny and June added the finishing touches to this one-of-a-kind Cabin with their decor that told a story and that story would continue to evolve. What started as a getaway for the Cash’s would soon turn into a recording studio.
The recording studio was soon set up and artists started doing what they do best…recording music. Merle Haggard, George Jones, Vince Gill, and Earl Scruggs were a few of the early artists to grace this Cabin. More and more lyrics would be written and sung at this cabin including a couple of songs from Johnny Cash’s Grammy Award-winning first album. The deeply rooted magical presence and environment that this little Cabin provided was truly unspeakable.
If you already didn’t think this place was historical and remarkable let me share more with you. In 2003, near to Johnny’s passing, he graced this Cabin by recording the last 2 records he would ever do. Although the Cash studio has changed some in the last 16 years, one thing remains the same. The intertwined roots and sound heart of Johnny Cash’s love of music and peace will remain forever.
Music is still recorded and produced daily at this Tennessean Cabin. Fun Fact: Loretta Lynn has recorded over 100 songs here! Also, 15 Grammy Nominated and Award Winning hits have originated at the Cash Cabin. Over 100 artists have recorded at this cabin and around 150 have visited. The Cash Cabin is now private, but the music still plays on and will continue to play for years and years to come.
