Ludlow Vermont Ski Lodge

Description

Ludlow, Vermont

The Ludlow ski lodge is a snowy home-away-from-home nestled in the mountains of Vermont on a private ski resort. Homeowner Doug Heckler built the hybrid timberlake and timber-framed lodge as an escape from the urban life of New York City where he works. The lodge is an accessible ski-in/ski-out residence in Okemo Ski Resort, perfect for a wintery retreat with no need for a vehicle to enjoy the recreation of the mountain. The hand-hewn timberlake logs combined with the timber-framed structure create an authentic, cozy cabin feeling despite the spacious size of the majestic residence. The lodge’s grand staircase gives the home a regal essence, while the custom hand railings and cabinetry allow for an authentic, rustic feel. The stand-alone stone fireplace and chimney not only heat the log home, but also serve as a warm, inviting gathering spot for family and friends after a long, cold day in the snow.
